Carcassonne
The only fortified town in Europe still inhabited. The medieval city of Carcassonne has been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1997. In this magnificent fortress dated back to 12th and 13th century with its double fortifications and its 52 towers, you can relive 2 500 years of history.
Amazing fireworks spectacle on July 14th, Carcassonne cultural festival in July and medieval spectacles in August.

Limoux
Limoux is a charming and picturesque town with a large square surrounded with arcades where you can enjoy a drink or a meal in the numerous cafés and restaurants. Limoux is famous for its Carnival, the longest in the world, during winter and until the end of March.
Limoux is a wine area with 5 AOC (appellations contrôlées), famous for its sparkling wine "La Blanquette" (1st in the world), its "Crémant" , Chardonnay and red wines.
Beginning of April : "Toques et Clochers", the most famous wine festival of the area.
