Le Sentier Cathare starts at Port-la-Nouvelle on the Mediterranean sea and goes along the Pyrénées until Foix in the Ariège. It crosses the departement from East to West and it is without doubt the most famous track in France ! Along this track you will discover the ancient cathar fortresses : Quéribus, Peyrepertuse, Puilaurens, Puivert, Montségur and Foix. The Transéquestre crosses the departement from North to South, from the Black Mountain to Carcassonne then Limoux and to the Puilaurens castle More information :
